THREE TIPS FOR HEALTHY EYES

First tip for maintaining good eyes is to have a diet intake full of antioxidants and vitamins may reduce risks for diseases. A diet rich in certain dark green vegetables and brightly colored fruits may reduce the risk of AMD, glaucoma, and cataract. Second tip for general eye health is to maintain regular exercises at least 3 times a day for 30 minutes. This allows good blood circulations throughout your body which is important for healthy tissues and controlling your blood pressure.

Smoking and Vision

According to the 2014 Surgeon General’s Report: Cataracts • Smoking causes cataracts. Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) • Smoking causes AMD. Dry Eye • Smokers are twice as likely to develop dry eye syndrome than non-smokers. Diabetic Retinopathy • Smoking can increase the risk of developing diabetes, make management more difficult and can lead to diabetes complications. • Smoking may also increase diabetic retinopathy risk.
